The Colorado Avalanche have employed Mark Letestu as the top coach of the franchise’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Colorado Eagles.
Letestu, 40, spent the final 4 seasons as an assistant coach with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, serving to the membership to a North Division title in 2023-24 and a visit to the convention finals that spring.
Letestu had a 13-year skilled taking part in profession that included 567 video games within the Nationwide Hockey League skating for Pittsburgh, Columbus, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Signed by the Penguins out of Western Michigan College, Letestu made his professional debut with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2007 and performed 255 AHL video games with the Penguins and Monsters, totaling 72 objectives and 112 assists for 184 factors.
A local of Elk Level, Alta., Letestu succeeds Aaron Schneekloth, who was employed as an assistant coach by the Seattle Kraken final month.
