SYDNEY — Cam Waters opened the Repco Supercars season with a dominant victory in Friday’s Thrifty Sydney 500.
Waters managed the 26-lap race and claimed an additional 5 factors for setting the quickest lap as he completed almost 17 seconds away from Chaz Mostert on the checkered flag.
Thomas Randle and Matt Payne adopted as Ford drivers crammed the highest 4 spots on the checkered flag.
Reigning sequence champion Will Brown motored from eleventh to fifth, ending forward of Brodie Kostecki.
“That’s completely superior, I knew we had a quick race automotive in qualifying, and I used to be fairly blissful once we gained the beginning,” stated Waters, who claimed most factors.
“It was so quick on the market, so huge thanks to the entire workforce. Wow, how completely different that is from 12 months in the past once we had wheels falling off and I used to be criminal. so I couldn’t be happier.”
