Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been indicted in relation to a scheme to rig bets on pitches thrown throughout video games.
Ortiz was arrested Sunday in Boston, whereas Clase has not but been arrested.
The indictment says the pitchers “agreed prematurely with their co-conspirators on particular pitches that they’d throw in MLB video games,” and the co-conspirators “then used that data to position a whole lot of fraudulent bets on these pitches.”
