1981–It was thought on the time that Alberto Salazar (2:08:13) and New Zealand’s Allison Roe (2:25:28) had set World Data on the NY Metropolis Marathon, but it surely was later decided that the course was quick, a ruling that didn’t sit nicely with NY organizers, who argued that the course was measured precisely, based mostly on the requirements in place on the time.
