Jul.30 (GMM) Oscar Piastri’s resilience within the face of setbacks has earned reward from former F1 driver and Dutch commentator Robert Doornbos, because the McLaren star continues to tug away from teammate Lando Norris on the planet championship standings.
Talking on De Stamtafel for Ziggo Sport, Doornbos highlighted Piastri’s response to the controversial time penalty at Silverstone – a second that gifted Norris the win and left the Australian fuming.
“I like how Oscar handles setbacks,” stated Doornbos. “I believe that’s actually spectacular.”
He revealed he had even messaged Piastri’s supervisor, Mark Webber, to specific his respect. “Silverstone was, after all, a really unfavourable second. He was dominant and misplaced the victory as a result of FIA’s time penalty.”
