Oliver Rowland has been topped the 2024-25 Method E world champion after ending fourth within the second Berlin E-Prix of the weekend, which was gained by Nick Cassidy.
Chief title rival Pascal Wehrlein wanted one other robust factors end to maintain his championship defence going into the double-header London finale, however pale throughout the race and slipped to sixteenth on the end.
With Rowland battling on the entrance of the pack within the closing levels – the Nissan driver working in fourth place when the vast majority of assault mode activations had been taken – clinching the title within the Berlin Sunday race seemed reasonable till a full course yellow interval was referred to as on the penultimate lap.
However with the yellow flags withdrawn earlier than the tip of that lap, Rowland saved away from the chasing pack to take fourth place and with it the drivers’ title with two races to spare.

Having dominated the Method E season after victory in spherical two in Mexico, Rowland picked up additional wins in Jeddah, Monaco and Tokyo to strengthen his grip on the title, whereas Wehrlein was unable to seek out the identical consistency because the British driver.
Cassidy charged from twentieth on the grid to win the second race of the weekend in Berlin, making it a Jaguar double after team-mate Mitch Evans gained on Saturday.
The Kiwi driver fended off 2022-23 Method E champion Jake Dennis, who needed to accept second for Andretti. Jean-Eric Vergne rounded out the rostrum for DS Penske.
