Seven Scandinavian takeaways

Having two Diamond Leagues in 4 days with lots of athletes competing in each was a novel event – with athletes travelling by prepare  to assist the inexperienced agenda. Listed here are seven issues that struck me.

2 Males’s 300/400 hurdles

I used to be grudging in regards to the 300m hurdles in Oslo however taking the 300 on Thursday and the 400 on Sunday collectively was intriguing. The identical three athletes took the rostrum locations however in a special order.

300 400

1 Karsten Warholm 1 Benjamin

2 Rai Benjamin 2 dos Santos

3 Alison dos Santos 3 Warholm

Combination instances

1 Benjamin 79.76

2 dos Santos 80.06

3 Warholm 80.08

I requested Alison what he realized from working 300h.  He replied “By no means to do it once more!”

5 Ladies’s 3000.

The 3000 flat shouldn’t be a championship distance however athletes like it. In Stockholm the primary three Linden Corridor (8:30.01), Sarah Chelangat (8:31.27 ) and Innes FitzGerald (8:32.90) all ran PRs.  Sarah’s was additionally a Ugandan nationwide file. Innes was notably thrilled along with her run – simply 19, not a professional, in her first ever Diamond League.
