Mike Battle, an All-American defensive again at USC and a former member of the Jets died final week, the college introduced Tuesday.
Battle died in Nellysford, Virginia, on March 6 of pure causes.
He was 78.
Battle received a nationwide championship with USC in 1967 and was then taken within the twelfth spherical of the 1969 NFL Draft by the Jets.
Throughout his two seasons with Gang Inexperienced, he appeared in 28 common season video games and one playoff contest.
Battle even appeared in a movie starring teammate Joe Namath and actress Ann-Margret in 1970 referred to as “C.C. and Firm.”
Battle was a star on the gridiron in his school days, serving to USC win three convention championships in as a few years (1966-68).
