The LPGA has canceled the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship close to Los Angeles as a result of the underwriter of the event did not make funds for the 2024 and 2025 tournaments.
The LPGA mentioned in a press release Friday that canceling the event was unavoidable as a result of the underwriter failed to meet “any portion of its fee obligations.”
Nelly Korda was the defending champion at Palos Verdes Golf Membership. The event had been scheduled for March 20-23.
The tour mentioned it will work with title associate Fir Hills and Pak, the Corridor of Fame event host, to discover different choices.
“We stay devoted to bringing this occasion again to our schedule to honor the unbelievable legacy of Seri Pak, who has been a beautiful ambassador for the sport and this occasion,” mentioned Liz Moore, the interim LPGA commissioner.
Pak, a South Korean native, performed on the LPGA Tour from 1996 to 2016 and received 25 occasions, together with 5 majors. She was inducted into the World Golf Corridor of Fame in 2007.
